79. Gilbert Emil "Gib" PASCH was born on 3 January 1923 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.12,49 He died on 31 December 2008 at the age of 85 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.49

Obituary Notes: "Gilbert 'Gib' E. Pasch, 85, of Kendall, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born Jan. 3, 1923, to Emil and Lilly (Petzke) Pasch at home in the Township of Wellington. He was united in marriage to Joan Thompson on Dec. 30, 1956, at Fountain Lutheran Church in the Township of Clifton. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, South Ridge, and a lifetime faithful member. Gilbert farmed all his life, semi-retiring in 1994 when moving back to the Thompson Family Farm. Gib loved to laugh and had a special gift making others laugh, too. He will also be remembered for his great sense of humor.

He enjoyed spending his time outdoors, deer hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed his fishing trips to the lake. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law and friend.

He is survived by his wife Joan; five children, Charles (Joni) of Kendall, Timothy (Erna) of Kendall, Debra (Mark) Eckelberg of Wilton, Barbara Ryan of Kendall, and Jerod (Shelly) of Kendall; a daughter-in-law, Robin Pasch of Kendall; his mother-in-law, L. Eleanor Thompson of Kendall; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Joanne Pasch of Elroy, Beverly Hensel of Beloit, Mary (David) Weber of Webster, SD, Clara Mae Thompson of Mauston and Donna Thompson of Kendall; three brothers-in-law, James (Donna) of Kendall, Brian (Elaine) of Elroy, Richard (Julie) of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lester; a grandson, Tobin; two brothers, Leo and Junior, and a sister, Elna Schendel; a sister-in-law, Leona Pasch; three brothers-in-law, Karl and Lyle Thompson and Elmer Schendel.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 4, at 2 p.m. at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, South Ridge. Pastor Fred Fedke officiated. Burial was in South Ridge Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Wellington.

Relatives and friends called on Saturday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Smith-Nelson Funeral Home, Kendall, and at the church on Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of the service. The family requests memorials in Gib's memory be given to St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, South Ridge, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation."
