Obituary Notes: "Clarence Louis Lietz, 84, of Tomah, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Tomah Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 7, 1919, to Louis and Emma (Pasch) Lietz in the Town of Wilton. Clarence was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church. He was united in marriage to Letha Hedding Sept. 21, 1940, at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in the Town of Clifton. She preceded him in death. He married Carol Bartz Johnson on June 21, 1959, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Tomah. Clarence farmed all his life in the Town of Wilton. He also worked grinding feed for area farmers, hauled milk for the Clifton Creamery and worked at other jobs. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomah.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, LaVern (Jean) of Wonewoc and Larry (Rennie) of Rio; two daughters, Darlene (David) Coshow of Denver, Colo., Linda (Ronald) Mueller of Allenton; two step-daughters, Christy Hansen of Austin, Texas, and Sally (Robert) Dahlke of West Salem; six grandchildren, Pamela (Eric) Dahlager, Mary (Jeff) Breitenstein, Dawn (Ryan) Karstens, Todd (Denise) Lietz, Terry Lietz and Paul Mueller; step-grandchildren Jennifer Langford, Elliot (and his fiancée Susan) Hansen and Emily Hansen; a brother, Lloyd (Armilda) of Tomah; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Letha; three sisters, Margaret and Grace Lietz and Gladys Gruen; and a brother-in-law, Alfred Gruen.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. from St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Ave., Tomah. Pastor Donald R. Buch officiated. Burial was in Mount Vernon Cemetery in the Town of Tomah. Relatives and friends called at the church on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of the service. The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, Tomah, assisted the family with arrangements."
He was buried on 24 February 2004 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.49 in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.

Clarence Louis LIETZ and Letha Mabel HEDDING were married on 21 September 1940 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.49,74,129,130 at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Indian Creek. Letha Mabel HEDDING died on 2 March 1957.74

Clarence Louis LIETZ and Carol Lorraine BARTZ were married on 21 June 1959 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.49,74 Carol Lorraine BARTZ, daughter of August BARTZ and Florence VAN DYKE, was born on 19 May 1926 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.131 She died on 17 August 2012 at the age of 86 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.131

Obituary Notes: "Carol Lorraine Bartz Johnson Lietz, 86, of Tomah, went to her heavenly home Friday, Aug. 17, 2012 at Tomah Memorial Hospital. She was born May 19, 1926, to August and Florence (VanDyke) Bartz in the town of Adrian. She was baptized into the Christian faith Oct. 18, 1931, and confirmed June 22, 1941, by Pastor Berg at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Ridgeville.

On July 20, 1947, Carol was united in marriage to Frank Johnson at Sparta. He preceded her in death in 1953. To this union two daughters were born, Christy and Sally. She later was united in marriage to Clarence Lietz on June 21, 1959, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a widower with four children; LaVern, Darlene, Larry and Linda. He preceded her in death Feb. 20, 2004.

She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Tomah.

She is survived by her children, Christy Hansen of Austin, Texas, and Sally (Robert) Dahlke of West Salem; her step-children, LaVern (Jean) Lietz of Wonewoc, Darlene Moser of Minnesota, Larry (Rennie) Lietz of Rio and Linda (Ronald) Mueller of Allentown, nine grandchildren, Elliot Hansen, Emily (Rick) Lupesco, Pamela (Eric) Dahlager, Mary (Jeff) Breitenstein, Dawn (Ryan) Karstens, Todd (Denise) Lietz, Terry Lietz, Paul Mueller and Jennifer Langford; two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held today (Monday), Aug. 20, 2012, 2012, 11 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tomah. Pastor David T. Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery."
