She was baptized on 25 September 1887 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.77 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. (Her name is recorded as "Lilla Luella Josephine.") She appeared in the census in 1895 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.66 Lillie appeared in the census in 1900 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.38 She was confirmed on 20 April 1902 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.331 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She appeared in the census in 1905 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.166 She was living with her parents and her occupation was "Domestic." The former Lillian Pergande was married to Conrad Brandau in 1915. He died in 1957. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James Ferries, Manitowoc; and Mrs, Winnafield Waege, Wilton; a brother, Phillip, Sparta; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 P.M. Saturday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wilton. Friends may call after 2 P.M. Friday at the Smith-Nelson Funeral Home."

(Gary Griggs has her Lutheran Hymnal that was published in 1905. It has the embossed seal of her church, "St. Johannis Gemeinde Evangelisch Lutherische," so it may have been given to her at her Confirmation.) Lillian Luella Josephine "Lillie" PERGANDE and Conrad Barthol "Connie" BRANDAU were married on 8 April 1915 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.54,168,333 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Conrad Barthol "Connie" BRANDAU, son of Heinrich Adam BRANDAU and Katharina Dorothea EHMER, was born on 20 May 1892 in Weissenhasel, Kreis Rotenburg, Hessen (Hesse) Province, Preussen (Prussia).54 He emigrated in March 1895 from Weissenhasel, Kreis Rotenburg, Hessen (Hesse) Province, Preussen (Prussia).54,62 He appeared in the census in 1900 in Sheldon Township, Monroe County, WI.38 Connie appeared in the census in 1910 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.62 He registered for the Military Draft in 1917 in Monroe County, WI. 311 Between 1916 and 1947 he was a farmer and auctioneer in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.54 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.109 Connie appeared in the census in 1930 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.143 Wilbur Edminster was a boarder with Conrad and his family. He appeared in the census in 1940 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.120 After 1947 he was an auctioneer in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.54 Connie appeared in the census in 1950 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.306 His household was at 1700 McLean Avenue and no occupation was listed. He died on 22 January 1957 at the age of 64 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.54

Obituary Notes: "Final rites will be conducted Friday, January 25, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Tomah at 2 P.M. for Conrad Brandau, 64, well-known Monroe County farmer and auctioneer. Conrad, better known to his friends as 'Connie,' died suddenly of a heart attack in his sleep on Tuesday, January 22.

He was born in Hessen, Germany, on May 20, 1892, to Henry and Dorothy Brandau. Coming to America in 1895 with his parents, brothers and sisters, they settled in Norwalk. After his marriage in 1915 to Lillian Pergande, they farmed near Wilton. In 1947 they moved to Tomah, where he enjoyed the remainder of his life.

He made a host of friends by his cheerful disposition and willingness to help those in need. Mr. Brandau's chief interest was auctioneering, which he had retired from due to ill health.
Surviving Mr. Brandau are his devoted wife, two daughters, Mrs. James (Bernice) Ferries and Mrs. Winnafield (Alta) Waege, and four grandchildren. Three children, Beata, Gertrude and Phillip, preceded him in death. He also leaves his brothers, Henry, William, Rudolph and Elmer, of Wilton, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kalher, Hillsboro, and Mrs. Martha Hyatt, Minneapolis. Two brothers and two sisters, and his aged parents, preceded him in death.

Interment will be in the South Ridge Cemetery, Wilton." He was buried on 25 January 1957 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.54,332 in the St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, South Ridge.
