RATTLE was born on 7 July 1919 in Grant Township, Monroe County, WI.13 She died on 28 June 2014 at the age of 94.9,13 Obituary Notes: "Neoma M. Goodenough, 94, of Warrens was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, June 28, 2014. She rests peacefully now in the hands of the Lord. Neoma was born July 7, 1919, to William and Catherine (Carroll) Rattle in the Township of Grant. She attended Summit Valley Grade School. On Nov. 20, 1940, Neoma was united in marriage to Charles M. Goodenough at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Warrens. To this union eight children were born. Together, Neoma and Charles farmed in the Warrens area most of their lives. When Neoma wasn’t busy raising her family, she worked for Tomah Memorial Hospital in the housekeeping department. She worked primarily in the nursery where she enjoyed seeing all the beautiful newborn babies. Neoma had a kind and generous heart that extended far past her immediate family. She was a true steward of the Lord. She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Warrens. Neoma and Charles volunteered their time with the Monroe County Services passing out meals at Hilltop, and she also volunteered at the polling booths during election times. Many may recognize Neoma as a columnist for the Kirby News. For over 30 years, she brought witty, kind and uplifting words to local readers, writing her final farewell column this past week. In her spare time, Neoma enjoyed spending time in her garden, appreciating the beauty in planting a seed and watching it become a beautiful flower. She also enjoyed quilting and embroidering. Getting together with her family was also a joy of Neoma’s. She spent many days with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers and friends, filled with laughter, love, smiling, hugs and singing. A family gathering was a great way to thank the Lord for all of her blessings. We are all better for having her as part of our lives and we know she has found her true joy in Heaven. She is survived by three sons, Kyle (Diana) of Oxford, Kevin ( Elizabeth) of Warrens, and Kurt (Melody) of St. Louis Park, Minn.; five daughters, Kathleen (Richard) St. Germain of Warrens, Karen (Jerome) Krajewski of Lake Tomahawk, Kitty Kappl of Richland, Wash., Kay (Basil) Chambers, Minneapolis, and Karalyn (George) Renaud of Warrens; 32 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Theresa Anderson of Warrens and Kathleen “Kathy” (Charles) Pollard of Tomah; a brother, Ronald Rattle of Sparta; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Rattle of Tomah and Donna Rattle of La Crosse; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; a grandson, Jeremy Chambers; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Goodenough; five brothers, Glenn, William, Francis “Bud,” Kenneth and Donald; and an infant brother, Cletus. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 303 West Monroe St., Tomah. Monsignor Richard W. Gilles will officiate.
