(In a note in her mother's widow's pension application file, her given name is spelled "Lowcindy," but it was spelled "Lucinda" in her father's Will.)

(New York became the 11th State of the Union on July 26, 1788, so it was still one of the Colonies when she was born.) She appeared in the census in 1800 in Springfield Township, Otsego County, NY.7,24,45 (She was listed with her parents in the 1800 Census, but not in 1810 or 1820.) She appeared in the census in 1850 in Wattsburg, Amity Township, Erie County, PA.73 Lucinda appeared in the census in 1860 in Wattsburg, Amity Township, Erie County, PA.74 She died on 23 January 1883 at the age of 96 in Wattsburg, Amity Township, Erie County, PA.29,50,72 (The gravestones of her and her husband cannot be located.) She has Ancestral File Number 9XY4-9HR.34

Lucinda ROOT and John PETERSON were married on 24 December 1801 in Cooperstown, Otsego County, NY.24,29,45,49,72,75 (She and her husband were not listed in the 1810, 1820, 1830 or 1840 Census records for Springfield Township, Otsego County, NY, and it is not known where they lived.) John PETERSON, son of Francis PETERSON and Susanna UNKNOWN (PETERSON), was born in 1776 in Maryland Township, Otsego County, New York Colony, British Colonial America.29,75 He appeared in the census in 1850 in Wattsburg, Amity Township, Erie County, PA.73 His occupation was "None." The value of his Real Estate was $200. Living in his household was Thomas J. Davids, age 16, a "Laborer." He appeared in the census in 1860 in Wattsburg, Amity Township, Erie County, PA.74 Their home was in the area of the Wattsburg post office. He was listed as a "Gentleman." The value of his Real Estate was $1,000 and that of his Personal Estate was $500. John died on 12 June 1861 at the age of 85 in Wattsburg, Amity Township, Erie County, PA.29,76
