Daniel ROOT was born on 10 March 1753 in Bolton, Tolland County, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America.¹⁴ He appeared in the census in 1810 in Vernon, Tolland County, CT.⁷³ His household consisted of 1 male, age under 10 (possibly a son or grandson); 1 male, age 45 and over (Daniel, 57); and 1 female, age 16 through 25 (possibly a daughter). Daniel's wife had died in 1807, prior to the census.

He was living 5 households from one of his brothers, Samuel, and they were the only two Root households in Vernon in 1810. He died on 2 October 1820 at the age of 67 in Vernon, Tolland County, CT.¹⁴

Daniel ROOT and Mary SMITH were married.¹⁴ Mary SMITH was born on 12 March 1756.¹⁴ She died in 1807 at the age of 51.¹⁴
