513. Lemuel ROOT was born on 29 September 1763 in Tolland Township, Tolland County, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America.96,97,98,99,100,101,102,103,104,105,106 (In his military pension application, he stated that he was born in the Town of Tolland and that his family moved to Amherst, Massachusetts, when he was about one year old.)

(It is possible that he may have been the son of Eliakim Root and Eunice Chapman. They had a son named Lemuel who was born 29 Sep 1763 in Bolton Township, Tolland County, CT.)

(In his pension application that was written on 18 August 1833, he stated that he was 69 years old and that his age was recorded in the Family Bible; that would make his birth year about 1763 or 1764. In the 1850 Census, he was listed as being 88 years old, which would have made his birth year about 1762. Don Root's information lists a birth date of 6 July 1760. The Egan source lists it as 1750. An article about his great-grandson, Edward N., notes that he died at the age of 93 years, indicating a year of birth of about 1757.)

(The 1850 Census listed his birth place as Massachusetts.)
