He lived next door to his mother and her other children. Fred appeared in the census in 1920 in Philip, Haakon County, SD.³¹³

(His household could not be located in the 1930 Census anywhere in the U.S.) He died in May 1969 at the age of 82 in Blunt, Hughes County, SD.²³⁵

Fred H. "Freddie" ROOT and Maude BRADDOCK were married.²³⁵ Maude BRADDOCK was born on 12 November 1897 in Chadron, Dawes County, NE.²³⁵ She appeared in the census in 1920 in Philip, Haakon County, SD.³¹³ She died on 18 January 1983 at the age of 85 in Blunt, Hughes County, SD.²³⁵
