(The Heritage Registry Internet source has this Josiah Root having married Experience Adkins abt. 1782 in Otsego County, NY. The site lists them as the parents of Ira J. Root, born 7/14/1791, and marrying Sarah Mallory 8/20/1815 in Otsego County and having a daughter named Sarah, born 1832. That source is incorrect as this is not the Josiah that married Experience Root. Furthermore, Ira and Sarah were not the parents of a daughter named Sarah.) He died on 6 June 1841 at the age of 88.³⁶

Doctor Josiah ROOT Jr. and Merab LEWIS were married on 8 April 1786.³⁶ Merab LEWIS, daughter of Lemuel LEWIS and (Unknown) UNKNOWN (LEWIS), was born on 1 March 1765.³⁶ She died on 11 March 1841 at the age of 76.³⁶
