He died on 17 July 1694 at the age of 50 in Coventry Township, Tolland County, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America.19 "He lived in Northampton till after the death of his wife, when he disappeared from that place, and seems to have removed to Boston, and from thence to Lynn, MA, where it is recorded that Thomas Roote,* late of Boston, married Mary Cox, 4 Dec 1701. She was a widow, her maiden name being Kirtland, daughter of Philip Kirtland. He is spoken of as "a husbandman" there. Thomas Roote Jr., of Coventry, executed a quit-claim of all debts due him by Nathaniel Sherman, undoubtedly her grandson. *The name is spelled in the Lynn records as Roote, Roott, and Roots."
