183. Stephen ROOT Sr. was born on 18 March 1711.¹ He died.¹ (He may have died 24 Apr 1746. If so, the three youngest children in his family were probably from his wife's second marriage.)

Stephen ROOT Sr. and Sarah HART were married on 19 January 1740/1 in Hartford, Hartford County, CT.⁵ Sarah HART, daughter of John HART and Esther GRIDLEY, was born on 19 June 1719 in Farmington Township, Hartford County, CT.⁵ She died on 25 January 1778 at the age of 58.⁵

Stephen ROOT Sr. and Sarah HART had the following children:

338	i.	Stephen ROOT Jr. was born on 20 October 1740 in Farmington Township, Hartford County, CT.⁵ He died on 20 October 1767 at the age of 27.⁵
339	ii.	Sarah ROOT was born on 30 September 1743 in Farmington Township, Hartford County, CT.⁵ She died on 18 February 1828 at the age of 84.⁵
340	iii.	James ROOT was born on 23 February 1746 in Farmington Township, Hartford County, CT.⁵ He died on 29 May 1825 at the age of 79.⁵
341	iv.	Ruth ROOT was born on 9 March 1749 in Farmington Township, Hartford County, CT.⁵
342	v.	David ROOT was born on 23 January 1751 in Farmington Township, Hartford County, CT.⁵ He died on 28 January 1773 at the age of 22.⁵
