687. Moses DEWEY (*+) was born on 29 April 1789 in Westfield, Hampden County, MA.⁴

(The Death record of his daughter Permelia listed his place of birth as Ohio.) He appeared in the census in 1810 in Westfield, Hampden County, MA.⁸⁵ He died on 8 September 1825 at the age of 36 in Northhampton, Summit County, OH.^86,116

Moses DEWEY (*+) and Electa FOWLER (*) were married on 9 August 1813 in Westfield, Hampden County, MA.^15,117,118 She must have been visiting in Westfield, MA, when she met Moses. They married there and then returned to her birth place in Ohio, where their children were born.

She may have been a descendant of Ambrose Fowler, one of the founders of Westfield.

Electa FOWLER (*), daughter of David FOWLER and Polly RISING, was born on 2 May 1790 in North Hampton, Clark County, OH.^4,119

Moses DEWEY (*+) and Electa FOWLER (*) had the following children:

790	i.	Richard DEWEY was born on 10 September 1814.^120,121 The 1840 Census for Bainbridge, Geauga County, OH, contained the household of Richard D. Dewey. The household consisted of one male, age 20-30 (possibly Richard, age 25); two males, age 15-20 (possibly Ralph, 16 and Norman, 20); one female, age 10-15 (possibly Mary, age 14); and one female, age 15-20 (possibly Permelia, age 18). If that was him and his siblings, their mother may have died before 1840. He died on 12 June 1882 at the age of 67 in Solon, Cuyahoga County, OH.
