1190. Larry M. CALKINS was born on 25 February 1948 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.502 He died on 25 February 2013 at the age of 65 in Casa Grande, Pinal County, AZ.502

Obituary Notes: "Larry M. Calkins, 65, of Bangor, formerly of Tomah, passed away unexpectedly on his birthday, Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in Casa Grande, Ariz., where he and his wife spent their winters. He was born Feb. 25, 1948, in Sparta, to Gilbert and Frances (Sheehan) Calkins.

Larry was a 1966 graduate of Tomah High School and in 1978, he graduated from WTC with an Associate’s degree in finance. On March 28, 1970, he married Carol Wilson and they would have celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary later this month. Larry retired from Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse, in 2004. He was a member of the La Crosse Knights of Columbus Council 839. Larry’s favorite pastime was watching sports on TV. He will be sadly missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of Bangor; his two daughters, Tabitha (Brent) Ostrem of West Salem and Samantha (Josh) Roesler of La Crosse; his grandchildren, Ryan, Damian, Lauren, and Jillian Ostrem, and Jackson, Colton, and Brennon Roesler; his mother, Frances Calkins of Tomah; two brothers, Ronald (Paula) Calkins and Mike Calkins, both of Tomah; two sisters, Cindy Lobe and Mary Larue (Tom Garrett), both of Tomah; four sisters-in-law, Ruth, Joan, and Karen Wilson and Barbara (Shawn) Kelley; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Wilson; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his father; two uncles, Rodney and George Calkins; an aunt, Judy Calkins; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Marion Wilson; and a brother-in-law, Clifford Wilson.
A visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Thursday at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, (Jostad Chapel), 121 Youlon St. N., West Salem. At the conclusion of the visitation, all are invited to join a formal procession to St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 210 W. Hamlin St., West Salem, for a Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Father Bob Hegenbarth will officiate. There will be no burial."
