It lists his wives as Abigail Alvord, Mary Gridley and Sarah Leonard. That information is believed to have been in error.) He died on 17 July 1694 at the age of 50 in Coventry, Tolland County, CT.16 "He lived in Northampton till after the death of his wife, when he disappeared from that place, and seems to have removed to Boston, and from thence to Lynn, MA, where it is recorded that Thomas Roote,* late of Boston, married Mary Cox, 4 Dec 1701. She was a widow, her maiden name being Kirtland, daughter of Philip Kirtland. He is spoken of as "a husbandman" there. Thomas Roote Jr., of Coventry, executed a quit-claim of all debts due him by Nathaniel Sherman, undoubtedly her grandson. *The name is spelled in the Lynn records as Roote, Roott, and Roots." Thomas ROOTE Jr. (=) and Abigail ALVORD were married on 3 July 1666 in Hartford, Hartford County, CT.1,16,21 (They may have married in Northampton County, MA.) Abigail ALVORD, daughter of Alexander ALVORD and Mary VOAR, was born on 6 October 1647 in Windsor, Hartford County, CT.11,16 (Her surname may have been Alvard.) She died on 17 June 1699 at the age of 51.16 Thomas ROOTE Jr. (=) and Abigail ALVORD had the following children:
