Arlene Ruth ROSCOVIUS and Robert Dean "Bob" WAEGE were married on 15 October 1949 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.24,118,140,141 in the Parsonage at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Robert Dean "Bob" WAEGE, son of Ferdinand Gottlieb WAEGE and Anna Marie DEGLER, was born on 3 August 1926 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.24,33,142 He appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.15 He appeared in the census in 1940 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.76 He was living with his parents. Bob died on 6 June 2003 at the age of 76 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.24 Obituary Notes: "Robert D. Waege, 76, of Tomah, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at the VA Medical Center. He was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Tomah, to Ferdinand and Anna (Degler) Waege. On Oct. 15, 1949, he was united in marriage to Arlene Roscovius at St. Paul's parsonage in Tomah.

Robert served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1946. He then started dairy farming just east of Wilton until 1983, at which time he and Arlene moved back to Tomah. Bob served as the assessor for the Town of Wilton for a time. He was also a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomah. Bob enjoyed horse pulling and had a team of his own. He also enjoyed building grandfather clocks, fishing and was an excellent herdsman.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene, of Tomah; one daughter, Bette (Mike) O'Rourke of Wilton; six sons, Dean (Madge) of Warrens, Maurice (Jenny) of Wilton, Keith (Jean) of Wilton, Ronald (Karen) of Warrens, Gale (Marianne) of Tomah, Kevin of Tomah; 13 grandchildren, Ryan and Kelly Waege, Branda and Martin Pohlman, Nathan, Rachel, Allison Waege, Marsha and Amanda Amberg, Lisa and Becky Waege, Kim and Laura O'Rourke; three sisters, Arlene (Alan) Betthauser, DonElaine (August) Zimmerman, Bernice Laudon, all of Tomah, Jean Waege and Lori Waege of Tomah, Lorna (Richard) Emden of Madison, Alice Prechel of Kendall, Joan (Ronald) Olsen of Tomah, Robert (Sue) Roscovius of Wamego, Kan., Merle (Cheryl) Roscovius of Sparta, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alvin, Ed, Vere, Harold, Frederick (Fritz), Lyle and William Waege; sisters, Leone Waege, Velna Zellmer, and June Thom; brothers-in-law, Dutch Laudon, Norbert Prechel, Henry Zellmer and Louis Thom; his mother- and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Roscovius.

Funeral services were held in Tomah on Monday, June 9, at 2 p.m. Pastor Phillip M. Enderle officiated. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Vernon Cemtery, rural Tomah. Visitation was Monday from noon until time of the services. The Torkelson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements." He was buried on 9 June 2003 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.24 in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.
