39. La Verne RODEFER was born on 31 August 1928 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.25 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.5 She died on 24 May 2013 at the age of 84 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.25

Obituary Notes: "La Verne Cramer, 84, of Tomah, peacefully went into the arms of her loving Savior and joined her beloved husband, Lloyd “Feets” Cramer, Friday, May 24, 2013, at her home in Tomah. She was born Aug. 31, 1928, to Ed and Inez (Noyes) Rodefer in Wilton. She was a 1947 graduate of Tomah High School.

La Verne was united in marriage to Lloyd Cramer Sept. 11, 1948. They had four children, John, Ina Mae, Peggy and David. She spent her working years at the Bassinette, Tomah Memorial Hospital and finally at the Tomah Care Center.

La Verne was very active in the Tomah Community. She volunteered in many organizations and received numerous awards for her work. She was the First Lady of the Year in 1982 of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Employee of the Year in 1984 at the Tomah Care Center, Volunteer of the Year at the Tomah Care Center, Mayors Award recipient, and Hospice Volunteer of the Year in 2001.

She was also known for her fundraising efforts with her garage sales. She organized auctions at Assisted Living Homes and Bingo at Handishop and in the basement of City Hall. La Verne was a longtime member of the Tomah Hospital Auxiliary and assisted with the Hospital’s Christmas Bazaar. In 2007, La Verne and Feets where given the Community Service Award and in 2008 she was honored by the AAUW.

In her spare time she made crafts, wrote stories and devotions for Daily Bread. She also wrote updates for the Tomah Auxiliary newsletter and also for her church newsletter, the Whistler. L a Verne also was active in the Operation Home Front, a cause she was very proud to be a part of.

La Verne’s ability to help so many people was driven by her faith. She had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone in need. She will be greatly missed by her family, many friends and the Tomah community.

She is survived by four children, eleven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Son, John (Pam) Cramer, their children, Corin and his child, Caitlyn, Chad and his children, Kayden and Azlynn, and Keali (Josh) Pfaff and their children, Haili and Chloe. Daughter, Ina Mae (John) Reimer and their children, Stacey (Dan) Monroe, Michael (Melanie) and their child, Nolan, Christopher (Melissa) and their children, Levi and Caiden. Son, David Cramer and his children, James (Bridget), Stephany (Andy) Beckstrom and their daughter, Violet, Joseph and Sarah. Daughter, Peggy (David) Huerkamp and their daughter, Rachel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lloyd “Feets” Cramer, a granddaughter and a great granddaughter, a brother, Lyle and a sister, Florence.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30,  at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 4 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday  at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday  at the Torkelson Funeral Home."

La Verne RODEFER and Lloyd "Feets" CRAMER were married on 11 September 1948.25 Lloyd "Feets" CRAMER, son of Ray CRAMER and Effie UNKNOWN (CRAMER), died before May 2013.13
