13. Virginia Elaine SCHOOT was born on 26 December 1922 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.10 She died on 18 May 2007 at the age of 84 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.10

Obituary Notes: "Virginia Elaine (Schoot) Dittmar, age 84, of Tomah, WI, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2007, at her home. She was born on Dec. 26, 1922, in the Town of Wilton (Sunny Ridge) to Henry and Viola (Warnke) Schoot. She grew up in Clifton and graduated eighth grade from Clifton Corners School and was a 1941 graduate of Tomah High School.

Virginia was married to Don Reynolds and had a son, Gary Reynolds. They were later divorced. She then married Francis “Frank” Dittmar on March 14, 1953, in Detroit, MI, and they had two children, Scott and Craig. After graduation, she worked for Bradford’s Music Store in Milwaukee and later worked 25 years for Federal Civil Service at Camp Williams and Fort McCoy.

Virginia’s hobbies were reading, bird watching and especially gardening. She enjoyed canning pickles, tomatoes and salsa to give to her children and friends. She also loved to bake, especially cookies to give to her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Francis; three sons, Gary Reynolds of Warrens, WI, and his children, Josh (Jennie) of Holmen, WI, and Jodie (Luis) of Davenport, FL, Scott Dittmar and his daughter, Whitney, both of Tomah, WI, and Craig Dittmar (Terri) and his son, Colin, of Tomah; three great-grandchildren, Ashton and Sophia Lopez and Hunter Tillotson. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held today (Monday), May 21, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Tomah. Pastor William Swan officiated. Burial followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Family and friends called on Sunday, May 20, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home. Family and friends also visited on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Torkelson Funeral Home."

She was buried on 21 May 2007 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.10 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Virginia Elaine SCHOOT and Francis "Frank" DITMAR were married on 14 March 1953 in Detroit, Wayne County, MI.10 Francis "Frank" DITMAR was born on 10 February 1929 in Detroit, Wayne County, MI.12 He died on 14 February 2014 at the age of 85 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.12
Obituary Notes: "Francis “Frank” Dittmar, 85, of Tomah passed away Feb. 14, 2014, at Close to Home in Tomah. He was born Feb. 10, 1929, in Detroit. Frank served in the U.S. Army and later in the National Guard for 35 years.

Frank was united in marriage to Virginia Schoot March 14, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan. To this union, two children were born, Craig and Scott. After living in Detroit for a year they made the Tomah area their home.

Frank worked at Camp Williams until his retirement at age 55. He also spent 35 years as the Master Sergeant for the Red Arrow Division of the National Guards. Following retirement, he worked as a golf ranger at Hiawatha golf course in Tomah. Frank was an avid sports fan and helped start the American Legion baseball program in Tomah. He enjoyed taking Jay Buckley Baseball Bus tours. Frank umpired and coached many baseball and softball games over the years. He also coached the WTMB-9 baseball team and was a yard marker for football games. Frank served on the firing squad for the Tomah American Legion Post #201 for many years.

He is survived by his son, Scott (Vicki) Dittmar, and his daughter, Whitney; son, Craig (Teri) Dittmar and his son, Colin; a stepson, Gary Reynolds and his children, Josh (Jennie) Reynolds and Jodie (Luis) Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Ashton and Sophia Lopez and Hunter Tillotson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Virginia, in 2007.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at First United Methodist Church in Tomah. Pastor William Swan will officiate. Burial with full military honors by the Grassman-Sowle-Larsen-Senz American Legion Post #201 will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah, and again from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church."
