20. Constance Carol "Connie" SCHMALZ was born on 22 December 1938 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.^14,25 She died on 21 May 2005 at the age of 66.²⁵

Obituary Notes: "Constance C. (Schmalz) Kenny passed away on May 21, 2005, after along illness. She was born Dec. 22, 1938, in Norwalk to the late Arthur and Anna (Thorsen) Schmalz. She graduated from Tomah High School and attended the University of Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to John Kenny in 1959 and was a life-long resident of the Tomah area.

Connie worked at the Tomah Newspaper for many years. Later she was employed by Sears in La Crosse and Wesco in Sparta. She loved to sew, bake and enjoyed gardening and golf. She was an avid reader and an active member of the Tomah Study Club. Connie had a great sense of humor and was always ready to tell or hear a good joke. Connie was beautiful, kind and caring, a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Leslye (Mike) Larkin of Tomah; two grandsons, Terry John "TJ" and Christopher; two sisters, Faith (Tim) Callahan of Tomah and Greeta (Bob) Fletcher of Oysterville, WA; a brother, Sylvan Schmalz of Alexandria, VA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law Gloria and Carl Schroeder; and a sister-in-law, Fran Schmalz.

Memorial services were held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 310 W. Elizabeth St. in Tomah on Wednesday, May 25, at 11 a.m. Pastor Martha Hampton officiated. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Wilton. Relatives and friends called at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the Tomah Public Library or the Parkinson Research Institute in her name. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the administration and staff of Touch of Home in Tomah for the exceptional care and kindness they provided to Connie in the last few years."
She was buried on 25 May 2005 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁴ at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Constance Carol "Connie" SCHMALZ and John KENNY were married in 1959.²⁵ John KENNY was born about 1937.²⁶ He graduated in 1955 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^26,27 from Tomah High School.
