Lucille Edna ALBRECHT was born on 9 December 1918 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.2,5,53,61,63,101 She was baptized on 29 December 1918.101 She appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.18 Lucille appeared in the census in 1930 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.19 She died on 28 May 2004 at the age of 85 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.11

Obituary Notes: "Lucile E. Burkhalter, 85, of Tomah, died Friday, May 28, 2004, at Tomah Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 9, 1918, to Reinhold and Hulda (Pergande) Albrecht in the city of Tomah. She attended German Lutheran School four years in Tomah and four years at the Graf School in Clifton. She was united in marriage to Arnold Burkhalter July 16, 1933, at Freeport, IL. He preceded her in death in 1965. To this union seven children were born, three sons and four daughters. She retired from Union Camp in Tomah after working 30 years as a machine operator. After retirement, she worked part-time at Don's Hofbrau in Tomah.

She enjoyed gardening and canning, crocheting and especially making quilts, fishing, vacationing and collecting toothpick holders.

She suffered a heart attack and stroke in 2001 that left her partially disabled. Lucile was a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Lucile is survived by three daughters, Ladene Zabinski and Kathleen (James) Friske, both of Tomah, and Bonnie (Stewart) Kortbein of West Salem; two sons, Randy (Linda) and Lamont (Joan), both of Tomah; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Robert Gerke of Norwalk; a sister-in-law, Elda (Durward) Lawrence of Tomah; two brothers-in-law, Clayton (Marion) Hansen of Tomah and Harold Woodliff of Winona, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold; a daughter, La Vonne Gerke; a son, Arnold Jr.; a granddaughter, Christy Lee; a great-grandson, Kyle Burkhalter; a brother, Harold Albrecht; a sister, Evelyn Axel; two half sisters, Isabelle Hanson and Betty Woodliff; and a half-brother, Adolf Schmidt.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 1, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1221 LaGrange Ave., Tomah. Reverend James C. Link officiated. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery in the Town of Oakdale."
She was buried on 1 June 2004 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.11 in the Oakdale Township Cemetery.

Lucille Edna ALBRECHT and Arnold BURKHALTER Sr. were married on 16 July 1933 in Freeport, Freeport Township, Stephenson County, IL.11,61,63,102,103,104,105,106 Arnold BURKHALTER Sr., son of Gottfried BURKHALTER and Rosetta BECHER, was born on 1 October 1903 in Albany, Green County, WI.63,107 Between 1934 and 1959 he was a farmer in Monroe County, WI.63 He died on 8 August 1965 at the age of 61 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.63,107 in the Tomah Hospital. Arnold was buried on 11 August 1965 in Oakdale, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.63,107,108 in the Oakdale Township Cemetery.
