Obituary Notes: "Claire Griggs, 69, of Madison and formerly of Tomah, died Wednesday, January 21, 1998, at the St. Mary's Care Center in Madison. He was born in Tomah on March 16, 1928, to Claire and Grace (Kuckuck) Griggs. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Gittler. Claire was a corporal in the U. S. Marine Corps and served in the Finance Department at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. He was employed as a locksmith for A-1 Locksmith Company in Greendale, WI and as a locksmith for the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He is survived by his wife Eleanor; one son, C. Curt (Chari) Griggs of Reedsburg; one daughter, Bonita F. Griggs of Reedsburg; two stepsons, David (Carol) Whitman of Cedar Creek, and Kent Whitman of Milwaukee; three sisters, Elva (Emil) Prise and Bev Drew, both of Tomah, and Carol (Arlan) Roeske of Sparta; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lyle and Harold Griggs; one sister, Ruth Griggs; and one niece, Ruth Ann Johnson." He was buried on 25 April 1998 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.15 in the Oak Grove Cemetery (Original Plot, Block 6, Lot 71). Clare Luen "Junior" GRIGGS Jr. (~) and Elenora J. "Lenor" GITTLER were married on 7 March 1950 in South Bend, St. Joseph County, IN.15 She died at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau. Memorial services were held at the White Funeral Home, Tomah. Lenor was buried on 30 September 1999 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.15,64 in the Oak Grove Cemetery (Original Plot, Block 6, Lot 71). Clare Luen "Junior" GRIGGS Jr. (~) and Elenora J.
