39. Leila Amelia RASCH was born on 4 August 1915 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.25 She died on 11 March 2003 at the age of 87 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.25 She was buried on 15 March 2003 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.25 in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.

Leila Amelia RASCH and Dean Darwin ACKER were married on 19 May 1953 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.14,25 Dean Darwin ACKER, son of George ACKER and Karen PEDERSON, was born on 23 January 1918 in Shennington, Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.25 He died on 6 November 2007 at the age of 89 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.25

Obituary Notes: "Dean D. Acker, 89, of Tomah, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, as close as he was able to be near his home. The staff of the Tomah Veterans Administration Medical Center Building 402 were taking good care of him. He was born Jan. 23, 1918, to George and Karen (Pedersen) Acker in the Town of Shennington. Dean was a faithful and lifetime member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. He was united in marriage to Leila Rasch on May 19, 1953, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death March 11, 2003.

They farmed in the Town of Adrian, sharing their life with their only son John. Dean loved the rural things of life, being on the land, pastures and woods of the farm, and raising the animals and crops. He also was a lifelong woodworker, journeyman carpenter, cabinet builder and hobbyist. He was an aviation enthusiast and played the harmonica. He served in the Army during World War II in Britain, France, Belgium and Germany. He was a 41-year member of Grassman-Sowle-Larsen-Senz American Legion Post #201.

He is survived by his son John and daughter-in-law Julie of Tomah; two nieces, Nancy Kaiser and Marie Acker-Kolpch, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Leila.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Ave., Tomah. Pastor Donald R. Buch will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery in the Town of Tomah with military honors by Grassman-Sowle-Larsen-Senz American Legion Post #201."
