37. Arnold Otto WAGNER was born on 20 May 1927 in Monroe County, WI.14,31,59 He died on 26 April 2016 at the age of 88 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.59

Obituary Notes: "Arnold Wagner, 88, of Tomah passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Healthcare System La Crosse. He was born May 21, 1927, to Otto and Louisa (Rosenow) Wagner.

Arnold was united in marriage to Shirley Marco Nov. 25, 1950, at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Indian Creek. Together they farmed for 36 years near Tomah, until their retirement. Following retirement, Arnie and Shirley moved to Tomah.

Arnie took care of the Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah, for over 20 years. He and Shirley also took care of Mt. Vernon Cemetery for many years before their son, Dennis, and daughter-in-law, Linda, took over as caretakers.

He is survived by his son, Dennis (Linda) Wagner; three grandchildren, Kit (Jamie) Wagner, Thane (Deandra Edwards) Wagner and Chase Wagner; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Misek, Vanessa Wagner, and Evan Edwards; a sister, Shirley Kewitt; a sister-in-law, Barbara (Ron) Savall; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Louisa; his wife, Shirley in 2009; siblings, Harold Wagner, Marcella (Benno) Scholze, Alice (Burton) Jacobson and Beatrice (Chet) McCollough.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tomah. Pastor Curt Backhaus will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2016, at Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church."

Arnold Otto WAGNER and Shirley A. MARCO were married on 25 November 1952 in Indian Creek, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.31,59,60 Shirley A. MARCO, daughter of Edward MARCO and Hulda Urene KROENER, was born on 18 August 1933 in Coles Valley, Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.60 She died on 29 May 2009 at the age of 75 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.60

Obituary Notes: "Shirley A. Wagner, age 75, of Tomah, WI, died Friday, May 29, 2009, at Franciscan Skemp Hospital in La Crosse, WI. She was born Aug. 18, 1933, in Coles Valley, Township of Angelo to Edward and Hulda (Kroener) Marco. Shirley attended Wilton High School and was confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Indian Creek.

She was united in marriage to Arnold Wagner on Nov. 25, 1950, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Indian Creek. Together they farmed near Tomah, and she also worked at Van Pack and later at the Tomah Care Center. After farming for 36 years they retired and moved to Tomah. Shirley currently served as secretary for Mount Vernon Cemetery in Tomah. She was also active in the I-Dividers Snowmobile Club since 1975 and was in charge of the Sunshine Committee. She enjoyed being a grandma and great-grandma, and you would always find cookies in the cookie jar at her house.

She is survived by her husband, Arnold of Tomah; a son, Dennis (Linda) Wagner; three grandchildren, Kit, Thane and Chase Wagner; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Poeschel and Vanessa Wagner; a sister, Barbara (Ron) Savall of Wilton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Hulda Marco; her brothers, Dick and Charles, and two infant siblings, Elwood and Sharon.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tomah. Pastor Donald Buch officiated. Burial followed in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Tomah. Family and friends called on Tuesday, June 2, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah assisted the family with arrangements."
