Virginia Jane WAKEFIELD was born on 29 December 1919 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.9,20 She was a member of the First Baptist Church about 1926 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.15 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.2 Virginia died on 2 April 2010 at the age of 90 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.20

Obituary Notes: "Virginia J. Ryckman, age 90, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010, at the Tomah Healthcare Center. She was born Dec. 29, 1919, to Nello and Deycie (Rose) Wakefield at the family home in the Town of Lincoln, near Warrens, WI.

Virginia was united in marriage to Bernard Ryckman on Sept.6, 1946 in Tomah, WI. She was employed by Sorenson’s and Sons and WR Christiansen Accounting firm in Tomah, WI. Virginia and Bernard moved to Florida where Virginia worked as an accountant for Gilbert, Wallas and Stuart Accounting Firm before moving back to the Tomah area. She was later united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Jim Friedl on Aug. 12, 2000.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; her daughters, Terese Popenfus (Michael) Wasilevich of Kenosha, WI and Barbara (Gary) Van Zandt of Casper, WY; a sister, Leone Ross; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nello and Deycie; and first husband, Bernard on July 22, 1987; and a brother, Roland.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2010, 11 a.m. at the Warrens Baptist Church. Dennis Frost will officiate. Burial will follow in the Warren Mills Cemetery, Warrens, WI. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Monday, April 5, 2010, from 5. until 7 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah, WI and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday. Virginia Jane WAKEFIELD and Bernhart "Bernhard" RYCKMAN were married on 6 September 1946 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.20 Bernhart "Bernhard" RYCKMAN, son of Donald RYCKMAN and Ruth M. UNKNOWN (RYCKMAN), was born about 1917 in Wisconsin.2,21 He appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.2 He died on 22 July 1987 at the age of 70.22

Virginia Jane WAKEFIELD and James Harold "Jim" FRIEDL Sr. were married on 12 August 2000.20,23 James Harold "Jim" FRIEDL Sr., son of Charles FRIEDL and Florence PARKER, was born on 16 July 1917 in Jackson County, WI.23 He died on 23 November 2013 at the age of 96 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.23

Obituary Notes: "James Harold Friedl, 96, of Tomah, Wis., passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Tomah Memorial Hospital. Jim was born July 16, 1917, to Charles and Florence “Flossie” (Parker) Friedl in Jackson County, Wis.

Jim operated an oil truck for the Deep Rock Oil Company for 12 years in Tomah before moving to Milwaukee to work for Allen Bradley as a spray painter for 25 years. He retired in 1982 and moved back to Tomah in 1983. He married Luella in 1938 and she passed away in January of 1999. He and Luella loved ballroom dancing.

On Aug. 12, 2000, he married Virginia Ryckman. Jim was very active all of his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also loved to play cribbage. He loved to be on the go and was even driving himself around two weeks ago. Jim was a strong man who was full of life and love for his family.

Jim is survived by his children: Sandra (Ben Douglas) Gay of Inverness, Ill., Meredith Stott of Tomah, James Jr. Friedl of Blue Mounds, Wis., John (Cathy Serio) Friedl of Black River Falls, Wis., Jerold (Vicki) Friedl of Wausaukee, Wis., and Theresa (Joe) White of Cudahy, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by wives, Luella and Virginia; an infant daughter, Mary Louise; and a daughter-in-law, Donna Friedl.

Family and friends are invited to funeral services Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Grace Bible Church in Warrens, Wis. Dennis Frost will officiate. Burial will follow in the Warren Mills Cemetery."
