August WESTPHAL was born on 24 June 1881 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸ He appeared in the census in 1930 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.² (His surname was spelled "Westphal.") He died on 2 April 1947 at the age of 65 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸ (The Oak Grove Cemetery records list his surname as "Westfall.") August was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

August WESTPHAL and Alma B. FENSKE were married about 1908.^2,8 Alma B. FENSKE, daughter of Friedrich FENSKE and Louisa Elizabetha KISSLING, was born in 1891 in Wisconsin.^2,16 She appeared in the census in 1930 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.² She died in 1977 at the age of 86.¹⁶ Alma was buried in 1977 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

August WESTPHAL and Alma B. FENSKE had the following children:
