6. Charles WILLIAMS Sr. was born on 20 September 1662 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America.¹ He died on 17 April 1740 at the age of 77 in Colchester, New London County, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America.¹

Charles Williams was a carpenter, perhaps in Worcester in 1684. (NE marriages prior to 1700 by Torrey gives m. Jan 1686 at Worcester.) He appears in Hadley, Mass. 1691-96. His wife was born a Weekes and was heir of Wm. Weekes, who died in Enfield, Conn. 1690.

About 1700 Charles removed to Colchester. His first grantee deed in Colchester is dated 11 Jan 1703. He was a Lieutenant of the Colchester Militia and a man of prominence in the town. In 1707 selected to do repairs on the meeting house and in 1717 selected to build a gallery there. In 1710 one of four men granted permission to set up a saw mill on the Pine Swamp Brook.

His will is on file at the Conn. State Lib. in Hartford. Will names a second wife Pricilla. She later m. Nathaniel Kellogg. His gravestone in the Bacon Academy Cem. states: He died 12 Apr 1740 age about 88 years. (Source: http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=lamcecole&id=I104)

He was buried in Colchester, New London County, CT.¹ in the Colchester Burying Ground.

Charles WILLIAMS Sr. and Elizabeth WEEKES were married on 11 January 1686 in Worcester County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America.¹ Elizabeth WEEKES was born in 1669 in Colchester, New London County, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America.¹ She died on 13 September 1725 at the age of 56 in Colchester, New London County, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America.¹
