A. died on 29 July 1999 at the age of 79 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.69 He was buried on 2 August 1999 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.69,162,183 in the St. Paul's German Lutheran Church cemetery.

Winnafield Alfred "W. A." WAEGE and Alta Ethel BRANDAU were married on 21 October 1944 in South Ridge, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.69,189 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Alta Ethel BRANDAU, daughter of Conrad Barthol BRANDAU and Lillian Luella Josephine PERGANDE, was born on 1 January 1926 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.87,130 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.120 She appeared in the census in 1940 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.40 Alta died on 9 February 2007 at the age of 81 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.69 Obituary Notes: "Alta E. Waege, age 81, of Wilton, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at the Serenity House in Tomah, WI. She was born on Jan. 1, 1926, to Conrad and Lillian (Pergande) Brandau in the Town of Wellington. She was united in marriage to Winnafield A. Waege on Oct. 21, 1944, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church at South Ridge. They owned and operated the Waege Dairy Farm from 1945 to 1976, before retiring in 1982 to Wilton. Alta was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by three sons, Douglas (Susan) of St. Paul, MN, David (Patricia) of Janesville, and Dennis (Sherri) of Orfordville; a daughter, Sharon (Rodney) Fick of Bossier City, LA; 11 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Tania) and Jason (Michelle) Fick, Mary Kate (Bryan) Haza, Elizabeth Waege, Curtis Waege, Amy (Jason) Gray, Austin Waege, Erica Waege, Lisa (Andy) Pisney, Michael (Connie) Davis, Brian Davis; 13 great-grandchildren, Jacob Waege, Ryan and Kaitlyn Pisney, Kelly and Kyle Miller, Ashley Kane, Taylor Gray, Logan and Briana Cook, Tia (Chad) Keepers, Sofia Fick, Madison and Jacob Fick; a sister, Bernice (James) Ferries of Nekoosa; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilton. Pastor Ryan Fletcher will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the church in Wilton on Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the service. The Smith-Nelson Funeral Home in Wilton is assisting the family with arrangements."
She was buried on 17 February 2007 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.69 in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
