Obituary Notes: Henry W. Zellmer, age 66, of Tomah, died at his home on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005. He was born to Henry F. and Emma A. (Westpfahl) Zellmer on July 28, 1939, at Sparta. He was united in marriage to Sharon Flowers on Oct. 15, 1960, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Butler, WI.

Henry served with the Wisconsin National Guard 32nd Infantry Division. During the Berlin Crisis he was assigned to active duty with the U.S. Army at Fort Lewis, Washington. From 1964 until 1974, Henry and Sharon owned and operated the Ridgeville Tractor Service. In 1965 they became an Allis Chalmers dealer. He could repair any type of tractor that had an engine in it. By standing and listening to the tractor run, Henry would be able to tell what the problem was. His Allis Chalmers dealership made his life as a mechanic n sales person; he knew each type of tractor, what type of plow or implement each one could handle. Besides the sale of new machinery, he also purchased used, fixed them up, painted and sold tractors. In 1989, Henry and Sharon opened A-1 Diesel Service Repair of Semitractors n Trailers. Again, Henry would amaze truck drivers with his wit and wisdom. There wasn't a semitractor or trailer that he could not repair. In 1999 they sold the business to an employee, and Henry was semi-retired. He worked at Cardinal IG until his full retirement on July 28, 2004.

Henry enjoyed to hunt and fish and was a member of the North American Hunting Club. He made shelves, benches, TV stands, recliner chairs, and was an all around handyman. He was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Ridgeville. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, and brother.

In addition to his wife Sharon, he is survived by a son, Dean (Roberta) of Tomah;, two daughters, Tonia Zellmer of St. Louis, MO, and Demberly (Kenneth) McDonald of Tomah; six grandchildren, Joshua, Jamie, Jordon, Jakob and Joseph Zellmer, and Tyler McDonald; two sisters, Lyla Tilch and Eldera Smith, both of Milwaukee; a brother-in-law, Sylvester (Judy) Flowers of Greenfield, IN, and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Liebecki of Tomah. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister.
