Obituary Notes: "Margaret R. Harmel , 92, of Tomah, died Thursday, May 31, 2007, at Tomah Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 31, 1914, to Gottlieb and Luella (Grassman) Cook.

She was united in marriage to Arthur Harmel on May 18, 1935, at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in the Town of Clifton. He preceded her in death June 30, 1997. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church of Tomah. They farmed for 11 years in the Town of Clifton and she worked for Union Camp and the Band Box Dry Cleaners for many years.

She is survived by two sons, Arnold (Arlene) of Fort Wayne, IN, and Duane of Janesville; one daughter, Eldora (Gordon) Stelter of Tomah; 10 grandchildren, David (Marsha) Stelter and Debra Stelter of Tomah, Denise (Franklin) Gilbert, Gary (Kris) Harmel, Michael (Julie) Harmel and Lisa (Mark) Benzinger, Bill (Ardyce) Rumppe, Kathy (Josh) Holmes, Timothy (Dana) Harmel, and Joe (Kristy) Harmel; 18 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson; three brothers, Floyd (Lois) Cook, Alvin (Ruth) Cook, and Rudolph (Elaine) Cook; two brothers-in-law, Stanley Crawford and Leonard (Gladys) Harmel; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Cook, Martha Wangeman and Ella Kerl; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter-in-law, Helen; three sisters, Martha, Alma and Leila; two brothers, Marvin Cook and Charles Cook; five brothers-in-law, Edwin Witt, Myron Von Haden, Charles Dickenson, Conrad Wangeman and Verlin Wilfred, and and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Cook.

Funeral services were held today (Monday), June 4, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Ave., Tomah. Pastor Donald R. Buch officiated. Burial was in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, Tomah.

Relatives and friends called on Sunday at Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church today (Monday) from 10 a.m. until the time of the service."
She was buried on 4 June 2007 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.69 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
