Maurice James "Maurie" SCHAMENS was born on 2 January 1935 in Random Lake, Sheboygan County, WI.^87,486,487 He was baptized about November 1935.⁴⁸⁸ One of his sponsors was Auguste Lydia (Kewit) Pergande, a first cousin of his mother. He appeared in the census in 1940 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶⁴ Maurie graduated in 1953 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^422,489 from Tomah High School. (His nickname in high school was "Mouse.") He lived at his home in Scottsdale, Maricopa County, AZ in August 2002.⁷⁵

Maurice James "Maurie" SCHAMENS and Dixie Lee DOUGLAS were married in 1961 in St. Paul, St. Charles County, MN.⁴⁸⁶ Dixie Lee DOUGLAS was born on 24 July 1935 in St. Paul, Ramsey County, MN.⁴⁹⁰ She died on 16 July 2018 at the age of 82 in Lynnwood, Snohomish County, WA.⁴⁹⁰ Obituary Notes: "Dixie Lee (Douglas) Schamens, 82, died on Monday, July 16, 2018 at home in Lynnwood surrounded by family after an extended illness.

Dixie was born July 24, 1935 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of the late Donald Douglas and Leone (Burger) Douglas. She was a teacher, housewife and mother. She married Maurice James Schamens of Tomah, WI in 1961. Maurie and Dixie were residents of Scottsdale, AZ for many years; they moved to Lynnwood in 2011. Dixie was a member of La Casa de Cristo Lutheran Church and affiliated with Edmonds Lutheran Church.

Her hobbies included reading, knitting, sewing and traveling as well as spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include four children, Michael Scott Schamens of Lynnwood, Kendra Lyn Fann of Seattle, Gregory Douglas Schamens and Jay Lawrence Schamens of Boise, ID; a sister, Donnette Gritzner of Tehachapi, CA; two grandsons, two granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren."
