Otto retired from farming in the 1960's because of poor health. He had prostatic operation at the Mayo clinic, Rochester, MN in 1961 and died January 30, 1966 in Hogeland, Montana at the age of 78. Both are buried at the Wing Cemetery in Hogeland, Montana.

Gertrude Louise Schmasow, first born and first daughter of William and Augusta Schmasow, was born October 12, 1898, at Wilton, WI. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended the public schools of Wilton, WI.
She married to Otto Leonard Zellmer on December 26, 1916, at Tomah, WI. Otto was born August 22, 1889 at Tomah, WI. They farmed in Hogeland, Montana, for many years. To this union three children were born, Namely Mildred Irene, Leonard Fredrick and Ruth Emma.
Gertrude passed away November 7, 1940 in Hogeland, Montana, at the age of 42. Otto retired from farming in the 1960's because of poor health.
