38. Frank William REISENAUER was born on 23 October 1895 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.39,53,100 He appeared in the census in 1900 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.9 He died on 14 October 1977 at the age of 81 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.53,100

Obituary Notes: "Frank William Reisenauer, 81, of 229 Superior Ave., Tomah, died Friday, Oct. 14, 1977 at the Tomah VA Hospital.

He was born Oct. 23, 1895 near Clifton and was educated in the New Lisbon schools. He attended La Crosse State College until WWI. He served in France and Germany with Co. B of the Rainbow Division and was awarded the Silver Star for bravery in action. After the war he traveled widely in the eastern states as a percussionist with theater and dance bands. In this area he had his own dance band known as "Frank's Troubadors."

Frank was married to the late Leone Noth and they operated farms in the Tomah area until she died in 1966. He is survived by one son, Frederick of Los Angeles; one daughter, Mrs. John (Frances) Hill of Boston; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Theresa Schnieppe of Hustler and Mrs. Amanda Hammes of Minneapolis.

Funeral services were held Oct. 18, 1977 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Tomah. Pastor Kenneth Gast officiated and burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery." Frank was buried on 18 October 1977 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.27,53,89,100 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Frank William REISENAUER and Leone Lydia "Leona" NOTH were married on 12 June 1938 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.26,28,53,101 at their home. Leone Lydia "Leona" NOTH, daughter of Friedrich Wilhelm NOTH and Emma KEWIT, was born on 27 February 1902 in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.16,26,39,53,100,101,102 Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Longmeadows, the family farm south of Tomah. She was baptized on 13 April 1902 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.103 She appeared in the census in 1905 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.104 Leona appeared in the census in 1910 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.14 She graduated in 1920 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.49,105 from Tomah High School. She appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.29 Leona died on 11 November 1966 at the age of 64 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.26,53,100,106 Obituary Notes: "Mrs. Frank Reisenauer, 64, Rt. 4, Tomah, passed away at the Tomah Memorial hospital, Friday evening, Nov, 11, after a brief illness.

Leone Lydia (Noth) Reisenauer was born near Norwalk the daughter of Fred and Bertha (Kewit) Noth. At an early age, she moved with her parents to Longmeadows, the family home, south of Tomah. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran school and graduated from Tomah High School, where she studied in the Teacher Training department. Before continuing her education at River Falls State Teachers College, she taught for two years in Monroe County. After graduating from River Falls, she became the principal of the Roberts State Graded School in St. Croix County and then a supervising teacher of that county, being at that time, the youngest rural supervising teacher in the state.

She then studied at the University of Minnesota, where she earned her BS degree in education and psychology. In addition to teaching at the Nakomia Junior High School in Minneapolis, she did advance work in remedial reading at the University of Oregon.

She was asked to return to rural supervision in Columbia County and then went on to become the supervisor of practice teaching in the Green County Normal School. At this time she was chosen for membership in Delta Kappa gamma, national honor society in education. She also did graduate work at the University of Wisconsin.

On June 12, 1938, she was married to Frank W. Reisenauer, and they purchased and built up the family home near Clifton. Two children, Frederick and Frances, made this home happy. In 1955, the family moved to Longmeadows to care for Mrs. Reisenauer's aging parents.

At this time, Mrs. Reisenauer began teaching in the Tomah system and spent the last 11 years in the Tomah public schools. She also continued her education at the University of Wisconsin, where she attended several summer workshops.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Reisenauer of Tomah, son Frederick of Rochester, Minn., daughter Frances, who is studying at Birmingham, England, one grandson, John Frederick, and one brother, Eldon Noth of Madison. interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery." She was buried on 15 November 1966 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.53,89,100 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
