Marion Sylvia VON HADEN and Wenzel Michael FELBER Sr. were married on 19 June 1946.239,241 Wenzel Michael FELBER Sr., son of Michael FELBER and Mary Anna BLASKEY, was born on 10 October 1919 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.239,242 He died on 3 December 2015 at the age of 96 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.242

Obituary Notes: "Wenzel M. Felber, 96, of Tomah died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at Mayo Health Care System in La Crosse. He was born Oct. 10, 1919, to Michael and Mary “Mayme” (Blaskey) Felber in La Crosse.

On June 19, 1946, Wenzel was united in marriage to Marian Von Haden. She preceded him in death Jan. 27, 1967. Along with farming his whole life, Wenzel worked at John Deere in Tomah for 12 years and later went to work for Ray Franz in the lime quarry. He also worked for Oscar Tralmer Equipment as an equipment operator for many years and then retired from the town of Clifton, as a town patrolman.

Wenzel was very active in the church and the community. He was a faithful and devoted member of St. Michael’s Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4125 of Tomah, Third and Fourth Degree Knight.

Wenzel enjoyed life to the fullest. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying ice fishing on the VanWychen cranberry marsh, hunting elk, moose, deer and antelope in Wyoming and Montana, the yearly fishing trips with Matt to Chesapeake Bay, and gardening. He was a lifetime bowler and was bowling still last year at the age of 95. More than 30 years ago, Wenzel was instrumental in starting the local horseshoe pitching league and when it came to selling raffle tickets for a community event, Wenzel was the go-to guy to get the job done. He also enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Brewers and Cubs and also was a Packers fan. Wenzel filled his life surrounded by family and friends, spending time with them was always of the utmost importance and many cherished memories were made.

He is survived by his children, Wenzel (Joelyn) Felber Jr., Albert (Cindy) Felber, James (Laurie) Felber, Jean Felber, Rose (George) Vanderbloemen, Lucy (Jerry) Kitelinger and Robert (Janet) Pohle; grandchildren, Telzey Felber, Tanessa (Joseph) Klug, Nichole Grube, Christopher (Sara) Felber, Barbara (Karl) Schachern, Tiffany (Brian Gilbertson, Ray Fleig, Susan (Chuck) Bowling, Charles (Susan) Felber, Patricia (Ryan) Norman, Julie (Chris) Jensen, Philip (Ann) Vanderbloemen, Kelly (Dave) Zebell, Kristopher (Jenny) Kitelinger, Patrick Pohle, Susan Pohle, Mark Pohle, Chad (Amy) Pohle, Derrick (Kathy) Pohle, Nicholas (Nichole) Pohle; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Landon Klug, Ashley and Devin Grube, Lily, Jacob and Hailey Felber, Christian and Grace Schachern, Alexandra Fleig and Autumn Gilbertson, Nichole Bowling, Nicholas and Nathan Felber, Morgan and Kendra Jensen, Peyton and Connor Vanderbloemen, Joseph and Maxwell Kitelinger, William and Jack Pohle, Joshua and Justin Cooks, Mark Jr. and Cole Pohle, Autumn, Zack and Ally Pohle, Lindsey, Dominic, Kyle and Dylan Pohle, Audrey, Owen and Jaeden Pohle, Charissa; three brothers, Joseph (Betty) Felber, Anthony (Nancy) Felber and Mathias (Sylvia) Felber; a sister, Ann (Larry) Pitel; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Donna (Jerry) Denrueter and Marcella (Dick) Allen. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marian; an infant son, Gerald; a sister, Marie Kuehl; brothers-in-law, Robert Koening and LeRoy Rosenow; and a sister-in-law, Genevieve Rosenow.

A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 18316 County Hwy. N. The Rev. Robert M. Letona will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Tomah."
