Eldred Vernon "Al" VON HADEN was born on 27 January 1928 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^154,260 He was baptized on 5 February 1928 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁵⁴ He graduated in 1945 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁶¹ from Tomah High School. Al died on 18 April 2010 at the age of 82 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁶⁰

Obituary Notes: "Eldred “Al” Von Haden, age 82, died Sunday, April 18, 2010, with his family by his side. Eldred was born Jan. 17, 1928, in Tomah, son of the late Vernie and Wanda (Kindt) Von Haden. On May 1, 1954, Al was united in marriage to Lauretta Ann Schultz in Milwaukee. He served his country in the U.S. Army, serving in Kaiserslautern, Germany, during the Korean war. Al worked as an auto body shop manager at Heiser Chevrolet in Milwaukee. He also owned Fish-N-Fun Resort for 31 years in Fox Lake. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Fox Lake home owners, and the tavern league. Al enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, camping, fixing things with motors, and repairing cars.

He is survived by his daughters, Charlene (Robert) Van Asten, New London; Pamela (Wayne) Schwingle, Dousman; and Karen Von Haden, (special friend, David Drenckpohl), Cambridge, MN; a brother, Norman Von Haden (special friend Isabelle Baker), Pineville, NC; two sisters, Elaine (Henry) Veith, Fairbury, NE, and Verdene (Robert) Larson, Pewaukee; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Lauretta; an infant son, Randy; a sister, Lila (Pete) Meeks, and brothers, Donald (Rosemary), and Paul.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 21, at 1 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London, with Fr. David Lewis officiating. Friends called at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin."
