168. Helen Eileen VON HADEN was born on 25 April 1938 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.16,51,255 She graduated in 1956 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.232 from Tomah High School. She died on 10 August 2018 at the age of 80 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.255

Obituary Notes: "Sharon L. Zellmer, 76, of Tomah passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center & Special Care Home, Sparta. She was born Aug. 6, 1942, to Sylvester and Lillian (Schodeberg) Flowers. Sharon attended high school in Tomah and graduated from Menomonie Falls High School.

On Oct. 15, 1960, she was united in marriage to Henry W. Zellmer at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Butler, Wis. He preceded her in death Sept. 25, 2005. Aside from being a homemaker, Sharon and Henry together owned and operated Ridgeville Tractor Services, primarily keep the books and records, from 1964 until 1974, and A-1 Diesel in Tomah, for many years.

Prior to his passing, Sharon and Henry enjoyed traveling together, camping trips and visiting St. Louis, were a few of their favorite trips. During the summer months, she could often be found tending to the beautiful flowers in her flower beds. She could be somewhat of a prankster and enjoyed the folks she would meet from all over on her trips to the casino. She was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Ridgeville.

She is survived by her son, Dean (Roberta) Zellmer of Tomah; two daughters, Tonia Zellmer of St. Louis, Mo., and Demberly (Kenneth) McDonald of Warrens; grandchildren, Joshua, Jamie, Jordon, Jakob and Joseph, Tyler and Kaden; great-grandchildren, Addison, McKinley, Levi and Amy; sisters-in-law, Eldera Smith and July Flowers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Sylvester. She was further preceded in death by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. today, Aug. 13, at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah. Pastor Matthew Minzlaff will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited for a time of visitation from 4 p.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home."

Helen Eileen VON HADEN and Dean HANDY were married on 11 May 1957 in Dubuque, Dubuque County, IA.255,256,257 Dean HANDY, son of Floyd HANDY and Fern Ethel THOMPSON, was born on 19 January 1935 in Valley Junction, Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.16,257 He graduated in 1953 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.253,257,258 from Tomah High School. He died on 26 July 2018 at the age of 83 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.257

Obituuary Notes: "Arlys M. Caldwell nee Gerke, 95, of Tomah passed away Monday, July 30, 2018, at the Greenfield House.
She was born Dec. 23, 1922, to John and Mabel (Matzke) Gerke. After graduating Tomah High School, Arlys was employed at Fort McCoy, where she met and later married, Audra Caldwell, they moved to Moline, Ill., and raised their five children.
After moving back to Tomah, she served as the housekeeper for Father Hilleshiem for 22 years. Arlys was active in the church and school. She was a member of the church choir, quilting club and was a good seamstress. Arlys taught herself how to play the steel guitar, accordion, organ and piano. She would play piano at the Tomah Care Center, where she was a volunteer.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Sandra (Donald) Massa, Erie, Ill., Patricia Bettis, Moline, son, William Caldwell, Moline: 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Karras, Milwaukee; sister-in-law, Patricia Gerke, Menominee Falls, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons; Richard and Michael Caldwell; sister, Carol Farmer; brothers, Raymond, Jack and Tom Gerke.
A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Queen of the Apostles Parish at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 303 W. Monroe St., Tomah. Monsignor Richard W. Gilles will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Tomah. Relatives and friends are invited for a time of visitation from 9:30 a.m.until the time of services Saturday at the church.
