He appeared in the census in 1900 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁰ Edmond appeared in the census in 1910 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.¹¹ He appeared in the census in 1920 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.²² He died on 11 August 1960 at the age of 63 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.⁸¹

Doctor Edmond Lloyd BERNHARDT and Selma STEIN were married on 19 June 1930 in Hales Corners, Milwaukee County, WI.¹³ Selma STEIN was born on 16 May 1905 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.¹³ She died on 18 May 1997 at the age of 92 in Wauwatosa, Milwaukee County, WI.¹³

Obituary Notes: "Selma S. Bernhardt (nee Stein) found peace Sunday, May. 18, 1997 at the age of 92 years at St. Camillus Health Care Center, Wauwatosa, Wis. Loving and devoted wife of the late Dr. Edmound L. "Doc" Bernhardt for over 30 years.

Beloved mother of Muriel "Sara" (the late Richard) Klein, Barbara Bernhardt (Harry Klinger), Sonia (the late Gaetano "Tom") DiSalvo, and the late Susan Louise Bernhardt. Proud grandmother of Kristing Klein, David (Ginger) Klein and Thomas DiSalvo. Great-grandmother of four great-grandchildren, Brandi, Chase, Jessica and Nicholas. Preceded in death by her three sisters, Irma Schroeder, Elsie Stein, Emma Jamieson, and her brother, Walter Stein.
She will be further remembered by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Visitation at the funeral home Wednesday, May 21 from 5 p.m. to the time of an evening family prayer at 8 p.m. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, May 22, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 am., with Pastor Janis Kinens officiating, followed by a graveside committal at Arlington Park Cemetery.

Selma S. Stein was born in Milwaukee on May 16, 1905 to the late Minna Schwebke and
Christoph Stein. Selma was united in marriage with Edmound L. "Doc" Bernhardt on June 19, 1930 in Hales Corners, Wis. They later resided in Sussex and West Bend. Selma was a dedicated homemaker in addition to serving as an assistant to "Doc" in his medical
practice. She was an active member of the Dorcas Society of the Lutheran Church, the Medical Society Auxiliary, and performed in various productions of the West Bend Women's Club.

After early retirement caused by a debilitating stroke, "Doc" and Selma moved to Milwaukee where she worked for 10 years at (Jack) Peters Drug Store. Selma enjoyed many hobbies, including reading, travel and singing. She will be remembered and missed for her open heart and home, and her cooking and baking skills.
