Martin August BIRKHOLZ and Lefa Marie PURDY (`) (~) (^) were married on 15 June 1944 in Kirby, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.<sup>36</sup> Lefa Marie PURDY (`) (~) (^), daughter of Milo Augustus PURDY and Louisa Caroline VROMAN, was born on 9 September 1912 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.^{10,24,57,62,63,64} She graduated in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶⁵ from Tomah High School. She appeared in the census in 1930 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴³ Lefa graduated in 1931 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶⁶ from Teachers' Training. She died on 2 November 1985 at the age of 73 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.^57,64 She was buried on 5 November 1985 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^57,61,62,67 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
