67. Floyd Mervin PRELL was born on 8 November 1924 in Oakdale, Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.10,29,102 He graduated in 1942 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.103 from Tomah High School. He died on 26 November 2014 at the age of 90 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.102

Obituary Notes: "Floyd M. Prell, 90, of Wilton died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Tomah Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 8, 1924, to George and Mae (Brookman) Prell in the town of Oakdale. He was baptized Jan. 1, 1925, and confirmed Aug. 22, 1937, at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Indian Creek.

He was a member of Tomah’s Senior High School graduating class of 1942. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a World War II veteran. Floyd was united in marriage to Betty Loging Oct. 7, 1950, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Hustler. Together they farmed on several different farms before settling on a farm by Hoffman Corner’s in the town of Wellington. He farmed until 2000, when they sold the farm and moved to Wilton.

Floyd was a faithful member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church and served on the church council. He was a member of the William Shriver American Legion Post #309 in Kendall. Floyd enjoyed taking car trips with his wife, whether it be across the country or just locally around the area. He was an avid card player especially when it came to euchre and pinochle.

Floyd was a proud grandpa and always enjoyed spending time with his grandkids; they will always remember “hats off to grandpa” and grandpa’s Easter egg hunts. He was a devoted husband, who always took care of his wife as long as he could, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; three sons, Conrad (Connie) of Hillsboro, Kermit (Brenda) and Marlin (Betty Mae), both of Kendall; a daughter, Genise (Scott) Witt of Ontario; 13 grandchildren, Bryan (Becky) Prell of Sauk Rapids, Minn., their children, Aeryn, Joshua, and Levi, a granddaughter, Elizabeth Prell of Hillsboro, and a grandson, Nathan Prell of Hillsboro, a granddaughter, Tara (Shannon) Mayberry of Onalaska and their children, Austine, Harmony, Draven, Sophia, and Sebastian, a granddaughter, Shaunte’ (Nick) Goins of Holmen, their children, Taylor and Dustin, a grandson, David (Jessica) Prell of Sun Prairie, their children, Destiny, David, and Adeja, a grandson, Mitchell (Amy) Prell of Winona, their children, Drake, Lydia, Reilen, grandsons, Charlie (Lynz) Prell of Carol Stream, Ill., and Tim Prell of Kendall, granddaughters, Melissa Prell of La Crosse, Nikki (Sam) Witt Penwell of Berkley, Calif., Rachel (friend, Derek Salter) Witt of Madison, and Sarah (friend, Aaron Schmitz) Witt of Ontario; a brother, Vere (Janice) Prell of Tomah; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Loging of New Lisbon and Carmen (Ken) Nelson of La Crosse; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Ryker Timothy Prell; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawrence (Georgia) and Wilbert (Inez), a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Norma (Stan) DeBoer, a brother-in-law, Russell Loging.

A funeral service was held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, South Ridge. Pastor Steven W. Neuman officiated. Burial was in South Ridge Lutheran Cemetery with military honors by William J. Shriver American Legion Post #309."

Floyd Mervin PRELL and Betty J. LOGING were married on 7 October 1950 in Hustler, Juneau County, WI.10,102,104,105,106 Betty J. LOGING, daughter of Louis LOGING and Leona LARSON, was born on 10 June 1932.10,106 She died on 22 May 2020 at the age of 87 in Elroy, Plymouth Township, Juneau County, WI.106

Betty was united in marriage to Floyd Prell Oct. 7, 1950, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Hustler. Floyd preceded her in death Nov. 26, 2014. They farmed together on several different farms, before settling near Hoffman Corner’s, in the town of Wellington. Floyd and Betty enjoyed traveling to the mountains, playing cards and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Betty especially loved completing jigsaw puzzles and usually had one scattered on a card table in the living room. She was a faithful member of St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church and active in the Ladies Aid. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, who will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by three sons, Conrad (Connie) of Hillsboro, Kermit (Brenda) and Marlin (Betty Mae) both of Kendall; a daughter, Genise (Scott) Witt of Ontario; 13 grandchildren, Bryan (Becky) Prell of Sauk Rapids, Minn., their children, Aeryn, Joshua and Levi; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Prell of Hillsboro; and a grandson, Nathan (Melissa) Prell and their children, Autumn, Anaya, Emma and Evelyn of Stevens Point, Wis.; a granddaughter, Tara (Shannon) Mayberry of Onalaska and their children, Austine, Harmony, Draven, Sophia and Sebastian; a granddaughter, Shaunte`(Nick) Goins of Holmen, their children, Taylor and Dustin; a grandson, David (Jessica) Prell of Sun Prairie, Wis., their children, Destiny, David and Adeja; a grandson, Mitchell (Amy) Prell of St. Charles, Minn., their children, Drake (great-granddaughter, Aspen), Lydia, Reilen; grandsons, Charlie (Lynz) Prell of Carol Stream, Ill.; and Tim Prell of Kendall; granddaughters, Melissa Prell of Sun Prairie; Nikki (Sam) Witt Penwell and their daughter, Keira of Madison, Wis.,; Rachel (Derek) Salter of Verona; and Sarah (Aaron) Schmitz and their son, Tanner of Ontario; one sister, Carmin (Ken) Nelson of La Crosse; two sisters-in-law, Janice Prell of Tomah and Gladys Loging of New Lisbon; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Ryker Timothy Prell; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A private family funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 24, at the St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, South Ridge. Pastor Larry Neitzel officiated. The public was invited to the graveside services Sunday, May 24, at the South Ridge Lutheran Cemetery and were encouraged to use CDC recommended guidelines for social distance and safety measures."
