Barthol "Bartle" BRANDAU and Matilda KATZMANN were married about 1883.^1,7,9 According to the 1900 Census, they had an adopted son, John, born April 1884 in Wisconsin. The 1910 Census lists another adopted son, Elmer, born about 1895 in Wisconsin. Matilda KATZMANN, daughter of Adolph KATZMANN and Dorothy BRANDON, was born in July 1844 in Pennsylvania.⁹ She appeared in the census in 1900 in Wells Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ She appeared in the census in 1910 in Wells Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ Matilda died in May 1926 at the age of 81.¹
