Seventeenth Generation

31. Prince Heinrich Friedrich "Solomon" VON BRANDENBURG-SCHWEDT (HOHENZOLLERN) (+)4 was born in 1718 in Hochstenbach Parish, Kreis Westerwald, Rhineland-Pfalz Palatinate, Kingdom of Preussen (Prussia).5,6,7 He was a member of the Royal Family of Brandenburg, in Germany. He married a Jewish girl, and was therefore disinherited and his inheritance confiscated. He is believed to have had fifteen children.

His father may have been Margrave Albrecht Friederich of Brandenburgh (1/24/1672-6/21/1731), who was born in Brandenburgh Palace, Brandenburgh, Prussia and died in Friedrichsfelde, Lichtenberg, Berlin, Brandenburgh, Prussia. His mother may have been Marie Dorothea (Unknown) (1684-?).

According to Brandenburgs of today, the ancestors of Solomon Brandenburg residing in Colorado, Ohio, Kentucky, and Berlin, Germany, in the late 1800s attempted to claim land titles to Brandenburg estates in Prussia. Evidently, documents asserted that Solomon's estates were confiscated in the 1700s by King Wilhelm of Prussia. The heirs of Wilhelm Heinrich and Mathias Brandenburg were not successful. They also tried unsuccessfully to claim the land that was given as a 99-year lease to Wilhelm Heinrich Brandenburg about 1790 in Baltimore. He died on 2 August 1793 at the age of 75 in New Market, Frederick County, MD.4,6 He has Ancestral File Number LX7F-JWW.8 (His name is listed in Ancestry.com's Fleming Family Tree as "Alexander Heinrich 'Henry' Brandenburg," and in one family tree on MyHeritage.com as "Conrad Alexander Heinrich Brandenburg," and in another as "Frederick William Margrave von Brandenburg.")
