368. Duaine Lester GRIGGS (*) (~) (+) (*+) was born on 15 March 1942 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.546 He weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces. He and his parents and brother Gary were living in an apartment at 620 North 26th Street.

His parents moved to Milwaukee from Tomah, where they were married. The family lived in a rental apartment until they bought a home in West Allis in July 1942. He lived there until he joined the Air Force. He was baptized in April 1942 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.143 He appeared in the census on 4 April 1950 in West Allis, Milwaukee County, WI.419 Duaine was confirmed on 6 May 1956 in West Allis, Milwaukee County, WI.540,541 from Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church (His home congregation at Nain Evangelical Lutheran Church was building a new sanctuary, so his confirmation ceremony was held at Jordan Lutheran.) He graduated in June 1960 in West Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.547 from West Milwaukee High School.

Duaine's hobbies as a youngster were boat-building and cars.

After graduating from High School, Duaine served in the Air Force as a jet fighter mechanic until 1968. He was stationed in Texas, Japan (3 years) Germany (3 years), and Illinois. He served in the military between 13 July 1960 and 1968.70 He served in the U.S. Air Force, with assignments in Texas, Japan (2 years), Germany (3 years) and Illinois (2 years). He was a jet fighter mechanic. Between 1968 and 1970 Duaine was in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI. He worked for American Can Company. Between 1970 and September 2002 he was a copier repair technician for Xerox Corporation from the in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.548 when he retired.

He is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing in the West, the Midwest, the Southeast, Alaska and Canada. He is also a NASCAR racing fan, and has traveled to races in Arizona, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Virginia and elsewhere.

He and his wife Bonnie toured much of the U.S. and Canada in their motor home, and lived in Friendship, WI after several of years of traveling. After Bonnie passed away in 2015, he moved to Wake Forest, NC to be near his daughter Kristi.

Duaine Lester GRIGGS (*) (~) (+) (*+) and Bonnie Lee REEGA were married on 3 March 1973 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.143,549 Bonnie Lee REEGA, daughter of John REEGA and Charlotte Jean KIDD, was born on 23 October 1947 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.70,103 She died on 5 October 2015 at the age of 67 in Friendship, Adams County, WI.70,103 Obituary Notes: "Bonnie Lee Griggs, age 67, passed away on Monday, October 5th, 2015, at Villa Pines Living Center, Friendship, WI, with her loving husband, Duaine, and stepchildren, Scott and Kristi, by her side. For the past 10 months, Bonnie fought a courageous battle with Guillan-Barre' Syndrome.

Bonnie was born on October 23rd, 1947, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of John and Charlotte Reega. She graduated from New Berlin High School in 1965. In March, 1973, she married Duaine Griggs. They raised his children, Scott and Kristi, in West Allis, WI.

Bonnie was employed by attorney Rick Gass as a legal assistant and an administrative assistant for most of her career. Bonnie retired in 2002, at age 55, and she and Duaine spent 5 years exploring the United States in their motor home. They went to every state except Hawaii and Vermont, and spent extended amounts of time with their children and grandchildren in North Carolina and California.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Charlotte. She is survived by her husband, Duaine, of Friendship, WI; stepson, Scott Griggs of Del Mar, CA; stepdaughter, Kristi Walston (Bobby) of Wake Forest, NC; grandchildren Andrew, Eric, Nicole and Katelyn Walston and Hailey Griggs. She is also survived by her brother, Ron Reega, of Prescott, AZ; brother in law, Gary Griggs (Barbara) of Pawleys Island, SC; sister in law, LuAnn Shepherd (Allen) of Chattanooga, TN; and many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie had a lifetime passion for her pets: dogs Tuffy, Greggors, Bogie, Cody, Dewey and Casey, and cats, Taffy, Wiley and Tigger. She also enjoyed exercise, gardening and collecting Boyd bears.

Bonnie requested that no formal funeral services be held. Memorial donations may be made to: Guillan-Barre' Society at GBS/CIDP Foundation International, International Office, The Holly Building, 104 1/2 Forrest Avenue, Narberth, PA 19072-2215.

Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Adams is serving the family. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Riverview Hospital along with the staff at Villa Pines Living Center."


Bonnie passed away at 11 a.m., with her husband Duaine at her side, along with his children, Scott and Kristi. She was diagnosed with Guillane-Barre' Syndrome in December 2014, and had been bed-ridden from then until her death. Her remains were cremated and distributed on the property that she and Duaine owned in Friendship, WI. She was cremated on 8 October 2015 in Friendship, Adams County, WI.70,550 Her ashes were spread over the area near her home in Friendship where she walked her beloved dogs.

Duaine Lester GRIGGS (*) (~) (+) (*+) and Susan Vickery "Vicki" ROBERTSON (^)(~)(#) were married on 17 July 1964 in Ramstein AFB, Kaiserslautern, Rheinland-Pfalz Province, Germany.551 They551 were divorced in August 1971 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, WI.70 Susan Vickery "Vicki" ROBERTSON (^)(~)(#), daughter of Walter Crawford ROBERTSON and Nora Belle O'SHEA, was born on 29 October 1946 in Norfolk, Norfolk County, VA.552 Vicki's father spent his career in the U.S., Air Force, so she lived in many places. Her teen-age years were spent in Valdosta, GA and at Ramstein AFB, Germany. After her marriage, she lived in Milwaukee, Atlanta, Rocky Mount (NC), Scottsdale (AZ), Palm Springs (CA), and Raleigh (NC). She worked in computer sales and as a Nurse.
