She was living at 604 Superior Avenue with her great-grandmother, Mary Street. Ruth appeared in the census in 1940 in Watertown, Jefferson County, WI.484 She was a "Lodger" in the household of Reinhold and Lydia Laabs at 200 North Eighth Street and her occupation was "Bookkeeper, 5 & 10 Cents Store." Her total wages in 1939 were $750. She appeared in the census in 1950 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.299 She was living with her mother and her occupation was "Bookkeeper, Variety Store." She was a graduate of Tomah High School, and was employed as a bookkeeper for Schultz Bros. Variety Store in Tomah, and spent a total of 35 years with the S. S. Kressge Co. as a bookkeeper in Watertown (1951-1960), Milwaukee and Madison (1960-1986).

She married Marvin Neubauer on June 30, 1951 in Sparta. She was a member of the Mount Olive Lutheran Church.

Ruth died (of cancer of the lung and pancreas) at a hospital in Madison. She was survived by her husband, Marvin C.; three sisters, Mrs. Elva (Emil) Prise, Mrs. Beverly (Oliver) Drew, and Mrs. Carol (Arlan) Roeske; two brothers, Lyle Griggs and Claire Griggs, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold (Bud) Griggs.

Ruth was buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Madison, on Saturday, May 10, 1986. Services were held at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, with Rev. Larry Theis officiating." Ruth was buried on 10 May 1986 in Madison, Dane County, WI.103 in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
