His wife Carrie had died, but it is not known why their daughter Carrie was not living with him; she was with her grandmother, "Kate Ferris." He appeared in the census in 1905 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵⁰ Charles appeared in the census in 1910 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.³² His household consisted of himself; his wife, Emma; his daughter, Carrie; and his sons, Herbert, Irvin, Lester and Harvey. (His surname was listed as "Feris.") He appeared in the census in 1920 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵⁶ (His surname was listed as "Ferris.") He appeared in the census in 1930 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵⁸ His occupation was "Farmer, General Farming." Charles Henry FERRIES and Emma Louise GEHRKE were married on 5 February 1902 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^42,46,64,66 Emma Louise GEHRKE⁶², daughter of Johann August GEHRKE and Maria MUHLBRADT, was born on 26 March 1883 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^{31,35,56,67,68,69} She was baptized on 3 June 1883 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶⁸ at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Charles Henry FERRIES and Caroline "Carrie" WURSTER were married on 31 August 1892 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.^9,42,63,70 (Her surname is listed as "Wurster" in the Marriage Record Index, but as "Worster" in the Genealogical Branches article about their marriage. There were no "Worster" families in Monroe County about that time, but there were several by the name of "Wurster."

Their witnesses were George Howard and Ernestina Switz Howard.
Caroline "Carrie" WURSTER, daughter of Christian WURSTER and Auguste Amalie ZIERKE, was born in 1873 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^9,63,71 (Her given name is listed in some sources as "Karlene," but in the cemetery records as "Caroline.") She appeared in the census in 1880 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ She died in 1893 at the age of 20.⁷¹ She must have died before June 1900 because her daughter, Carrie, was living with the child's grandmother, Kate Ferris, during the 1900 Census. Carrie was buried in 1893 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷¹ in the St. Paul's German Lutheran Church Cemetery.
