8. William Louis "Bill" GEIER was born on 23 January 1930 in Monroe County, WI.^11,12 He died on 2 February 2022 at the age of 92 in Cadiz, Trigg County, KY.¹² Obituary Notes: "William "Bill" Louis Geier age 92, of Hopkinsville Kentucky, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Shady Lawn Nursing Facility in Cadiz Kentucky.

He was born January 23, 1930, to William and Helen (Petzke) Geier. Bill grew up on the family farm near Wilton WI. He graduated from Black Valley School and took over the family farms.

Bill was united in marriage to Gladys (Degner) on July 14, 1951, at Saint Matthews Lutheran Church on South Ridge near Ontario WI. Together they farmed and raised their family in Black Valley for 25 years. In 1976 they moved to Hopkinsville Kentucky for a warmer climate. Together they enjoyed their country home and the many trips to see the sights of Western Kentucky. Bill worked for Thomas Industries for 20 years. After his retirement he stayed busy as a mail currier for several area businesses well into his eighties. Bill enjoyed visiting with relatives, neighbors, and friends. They were lifelong members of WELS and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his children Angela (Donn) Heath of Wilton WI, Carolyn (Dave) Hancock of Warrens WI, David Geier of Milwaukee WI, Michael (Doris) Geier of Norwalk WI; grandchildren Mandy, Brandon, Leigh Ann, Hannah, Tiffany, Scott, Chelsea, and Michael; eight great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Orlo "Bud" Degner; niece, Cher; nephew, Doug.

Bill was preceded in Death by his parents William and Helen; wife, Gladys; daughter Dianne Hatzung; brother, Larry; sisters-in-law, Thelma Degner and Edith Ziesch; brother-in-law, Wally Ziesch.

A special thank you to Pastor Holz for his many visits and prayers, to Joe, Betty, and Holly Stevens for all of the care and friendship they have given over the years and to the staff of Shady Lawn Nursing Facility for the care and friendship over the last few years.

William Louis "Bill" GEIER and Gladys Marie DEGNER were married on 14 July 1951 in Ontario, Vernon County, WI.^12,13 Gladys Marie DEGNER, daughter of Frank DEGNER and Ethel BYINGTON, was born on 24 April 1931 in Wonewoc Township, Juneau County, WI.¹³ She died on 10 December 2021 at the age of 90 in Cadiz, Trigg County, KY.¹³ Obituary Notes: "Gladys Marie Geier age 90, of Hopkinsville Kentucky, passed away peacefully Friday, December 10, 2021, at Shady Lawn Nursing Facility in Cadiz Kentucky.

She was born April 24, 1931, to Frank and Ethel (Byington) Degner. Gladys grew up on the family farm in Wonewoc WI. She graduated from Wonewoc High School in 1949.

Gladys was united in marriage to William "Bill" Geier on July 14, 1951, at Saint Matthews Lutheran Church in Ontario WI. Together they farmed in Black Valley south of Wilton WI. for 25 years. In 1976 they moved to Hopkinsville Kentucky for a warmer climate. Together they enjoyed their country home where she cared for her cats and dogs. She was an excellent seamstress and great cook. They were lifelong members of WELS and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bill, her children Angela (Donn) Heath of Wilton WI, Carolyn (Dave) Hancock of Warrens WI, David Geier of Milwaukee WI, Michael (Doris) Geier of Norwalk WI; grandchildren Mandy, Brandon, Leigh Ann, Hannah, Tiffany, Scott, Chelsea and Michael; Eight great grandchildren; brother, Orlo "Bud" Degner; niece, Cher; nephew, Doug.
