Celia May HESER and Carr Otis JOHNSON were married on 1 May 1902 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.345,802,803,804 Newspaper Article: "A social event of more than usual importance took place at the home of Mr. Fredrick Heser in Pleasant Valley, Thursday evening, May 1st, when the nuptial know was tied that united Mr. Carr Johnson and Miss Celia Heser. Both young people were born, raised and attended the schools in this vicinity and are well known and beloved by all. The bridegroom has since school days been a mail carrier on the rural mail route that goes to Pleasant Valley from Tomah and has won the respect and good will of the community. He is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Johnson of Tarr Valley. A large company of relatives and friends gathered in response to the nearly two hundred invitations sent out. At about 7:30 to a wedding march played by Miss Inez Purdy the contracting parties, supported respectively by Mr. Fred Johnson and Miss Myrtle Dickson, stepped under an arch and wedding bell arranged artistically in one corner of the room. The bride was very prettily arrayed in sage green, trimmed with white silk and appliqué and carried white flowers. Rev. C. E. Butters gave the vows, noted the responses and pronounced them husband and wife. After congratulations all repaired to tables tastily prepared by Mrs. Kate Purdy, of Tomah, and enjoyed a bountiful wedding dinner. One room was literally filled with the presents that seemingly included everything useful and ornamental to start housekeeping with. Among the guests from away were Misses Foote, of Sparta; Mrs. Leonard Dickinson, of Loone, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Morse, of Warrens; Mrs. Boehm, of La Crosse; and Mr. and Mrs. Wiklund, Amens, Dickson and Purdy and Mrs. Tillie Johnson, all of Tomah. Mr. and Mrs. Carr Johnson, after a short honeymoon in La Crosse, will make their home in the residence in Tomah where Mr. Spence formerly lived which Mr. Johnson has purchased. May prosperity and happiness be their portion."
