Solomon GRIGGS Jr. was born on 14 August 1743 in Waterbury, New Haven County, Conecticut Colony, British Colonial America.^168,193 (His name was listed as "Solomon" in some sources, but as "Benjamin" in the IGI Index and in the Pomfret Vital Records.) He appeared in the census in 1790 in Watertown, Litchfield County, CT.²²⁷ He died on 23 January 1821 at the age of 77 in Waterbury, New Haven County, CT.^228,229 Solomon was buried in Pomfret Township, Windham County, CT.^158,166,228 There is a gravestone in the Sabin Cemetery (also known as the Wappaquoian Burial Ground) in Pomfret Township that was believed to be this Solomon, but the 1780 year of death does not fit because of the birth of his children.

Gravestone Inscription: "In memory of Mr. Solomon, son of Mr. Solomon Griggs, who died Feb 16th, 1780, in the 35th year of his Age."
