12. William HARP Sr. was born in April 1840 in New York.^6,14 (He was listed as 12 years old in the 1850 Census.) He appeared in the census in 1850 in Chemung Township, McHenry County, IL.⁶ He appeared in the census in 1860 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.² He was living with his parents, his age was listed as 22 and his occupation was "Farm Laborer." William appeared in the census in 1870 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ His household consisted of William; his wife, Nancy; and their son, John, age 5. They lived next door to his father and his family. He appeared in the census in 1880 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.³ His household consisted of William; his first wife, Nancy; and their children, John, Ida, William, Eugene and "Aby J." He appeared in the census in 1900 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁴ His household consisted of William; his second wife, Maud; their children, Leroy and Minor; and his children from his first marriage, Ada and Lyman. William appeared in the census in 1910 in Grant Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁵ He died on 23 June 1922 at the age of 82.⁹ He was buried in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ in the Lincoln-Peterson-Kirby Cemetery.

William HARP Sr. and Nancy Matilda GETMAN were married on 22 February 1863 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.^10,16,17,18 Nancy Matilda GETMAN, daughter of Aaron GETMAN and Eve ELBY, was born on 30 June 1844 in Bloomingdale, DuPage County, IL.^3,16,17,19 She appeared in the census in 1850 in Oconomowoc Township, Waukesha County, WI.²⁰ She appeared in the census in 1870 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵ Nancy appeared in the census in 1880 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.³ She died on 12 February 1896 at the age of 51 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,16,17,19

Nancy Getman was born June 31 (sic, 30), 1844 in Bloomingdale, Cook Co.(sic, DuPage), Illinois. She came to Wisconsin with her parents in June 1846, when she was but two years old. She lived with her parents in Waukesha Co. until 1862, when she came to Monroe Co. and was married to William Harp in the spring of 1863. She was the youngest of a family of ten children, of whom six survive her: Mrs. C. Vandervort of Tomah, Mrs. Jane Hoffman of Hixton, Jackson Co., Mrs. Caroline Wilson of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Mary Dohle of Illinois, Aaron Getman of Tomah and Alexander Dohle of Illinois. Mrs. Nancy Harp was the mother of eight children, of whom six are living, four boys and two girls.

The husband and children mourn the loss of a kind and faithful wife and mother who has gone before them. In their home there is a vacant chair. They will miss her in the morning, at noon time and when the evening shadows gather. She is at rest."

William HARP Sr. and Maud Blanche MORE were married on 25 July 1897 in Monroe County, WI.^1,18 Maud Blanche MORE was born on 6 February 1878 in Wisconsin.^1,14,15 The 1900 Census listed her birth place as Illinois and indicated that her father was born in New York and her mother in Pennsylvania. She appeared in the census in 1900 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁴ (She was living with her huband William and his family.) She appeared in the census in 1910 in Grant Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁵ Maud died in August 1962 at the age of 84.¹
