40. Ethel E. MEYER was born on 22 December 1918 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.^26,39,64 She was baptized on 7 January 1919 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.³⁹ She died on 20 October 2014 at the age of 95 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶⁴

Obituary Notes: "Ethel E. Sime, 95, of Tomah died Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Tomah Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 22, 1918, to Arthur and Matilda (Glander) Meyer on the family farm in the town of Wilton. She was united in marriage to Harley Sime Nov. 25, 1950, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Ridgeville. He preceded her in death April 30, 1994.

Ethel belonged to Grassman-Sowle-Larson-Senz American Legion Post #201 Ladies Auxiliary and Curtis–McNutt V.F.W. Post #1382 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, and served on the Martha Circle, and also was a member of the Cro-Knitters. She was an excellent crocheter as well as an excellent seamstress. She could sew anything and made many clothes. She enjoyed playing bridge, spending time with friends and neighbors, and visiting over the phone. Ethel was an excellent cook and loved baking. “Grandma’s Cookies” will always be remembered. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. S he was a loving mother and was always available and excited to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Garold “Gary” (Barbara) of Wilton; two grandchildren, Rachel (Joshua) Winrich and Mitchell Sime; two great-grandchildren, Ryley and Bayley Winrich, all of Wilton; a brother, Harold (Joanne) Meyer of Tomah; two sisters-in-law, Aileen (Allan) Kegley of Janesville and Mary Meyers of Tunnel City.

In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley; and a brother, Howard Meyers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Tomah. Pastor Curt Backhaus will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens."

Ethel E. MEYER and Harley SIME were married on 25 November 1950 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^17,36,65 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Harley SIME was born about 1924 in Crawford County, WI.⁶⁵ He died on 30 April 1994 at the age of 70.⁶⁶
