They purchased 160 acres in Section 1. He died on 6 January 1875 at the age of 49 in Monroe County, WI.^1,2,3 Fred was buried in Tunnel City, Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.^2,3 in the Greenfield Township Cemetery
