John HOAG Sr1 was born on 4 March 1643 in Wales, United Kingdom.2,3,4 Before 1650 he was an apprentice weaver in Wales, United Kingdom.4 He emigrated in 1650 from Wales, United Kingdom.4 After about 1670 John was a judge in Salem Village (now Danvers), Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America.4 He was supposed to have been a judge at the Salem Witch Trials, but he dissented from the other judges and became unpopular. He lost his position as a judge because of it. He died in April 1728 at the age of 85 in Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America.3
