(His obituary indicates that he was married in 1897.) August Wilhelm Carl "Bill" WESTPFAHL, son of Johann Gottlieb WESTPHAL and Emilie Ernestine MARQUARDT, was born on 23 June 1875 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.^{1,13,22,33,34,47,51,52} (The church records of his baptism, confirmation and "family record" list his name as "August Wilhelm Carl," but according to Dean Zellmer he went by the name of "William Gottlieb 'Bill' Westpfahl.")
